The article discusses the principles of the most commonly used in Europe – Swiss-Austrian system of classification of construction products and devices included in building infrastructure, due to their resistance to hailstorm. This system includes the classification of a wide group of products, including: roof membranes, roof tiles, sandwich panels, solar collectors or photovoltaic modules. The concept of hail registers operating in Switzerland and Austria was also presented. The study discusses the research methodology and the evaluation criteria of the obtained results based on the records of the socalled VKF specification. The issue of the discrepancy between the test procedures included in the indicated specifications and Eurocodes was also indicated.
