The reason for the shrinkage cracks occurrence is exceedance of the tensile strength by forced stresses, caused by restrained shrinkage of the composite. This phenomenon is particularly important for the high-performance concrete (HPC) whose elongation is lower than for conventional concrete. This paper presents the course of the interaction of shrinkage over time and the classification of the susceptibility to cracking of tested self-consolidating concretes depending on the cement type used.
