Effects of modified and highly modified binders on resistance of asphalt mixture to water and frost

This paper presents the results of resistance to asphalt concrete AC22 P for base course and SMA11 S forwearing course to water and frost ITSR. Asphalt mixtures were designed with typical polymer modified bitumens ORBITON 25/55-60, ORBITON 45/80-55 and newly developed highly modified binder ORBITON 25/55-80 HIMA, ORBITON 45/80-80 HiMA. The bitumens higher values of ITSR have been registered for AC22 Pmixtures with HiMAthenmixtures with typicalmodified binder. ITSR results were similar in the case of SMA11 S mixtures. However differences between mean values of ITSd and ITSw are insignificant for SMA11 S with HiMA than for SMA11 S with typical modified binder.
