This paper presents an analysis of the effect of the addition of cullet on the properties of concrete of class C12/15, which is used on national roads to make footings for laying gutters and kerbs. Ground glass was added without reducing the amount of cement. The water/cement ratio and the addition of ground glass expressed as the mass ratio of its content to that of cement were adopted as independent variables. The research programme mainly involved determining the compressive strength of the concrete, water absorption and frost resistance after 25 and 100 freeze-thaw cycles. The characteristics of air pores in hardened concrete were also determined. The results obtained showed a beneficial effect of the addition of ground cullet on increasing the strength and durability of concrete.
