By-hand dimensioning of rectangular reinforced concrete cross sections subjected to eccentric compression – exemplary solutions

The method, that allows for autonomic by-hand calculations of rectangular cross sections subjected to eccentric compression, is presented in the article. The proposal is the alternative to those available in the literature and using the charts or tables for the design. The origination of proposed formulae is presented together with the algorithm of leading the calculations. Keywords: reinforced concrete; eccentric compression; ultimate limit state.
