The guidelines of the European Producers of Laminate Flooring (EPLF) [12], published in its technical bulletin of 2013, have compelled manufacturers to adopt new underlayments that meet technical specification criteria. Today’s consumers demand innovative products that meet the majority of the specifications once thought to bemutually contradictory. To our best knowledge, Polish trade literature is yet to include a work on underlay materials for laminate floor coverings. An introduction to the article provides basic information on such materials. Its experimental part outlines the findings of studies on newly- -developed underlayment materials. Studies on such complex multilayered underlayments fitted with bituminous waste demonstrate it is feasible to develop underlaymaterials that satisfy EPLF requirements [12].
