The paper describes the results of testing Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) walls with opening on a natural scale. The walls were made of 18 cm wide blocks and thin layer joints. The tests of unconfined and confined walls (models confined around and models confined around and at the opening) were conducted. All models were made in two variants: with unfilled perpend joints and with filled perpend joints. Load-bearing capacity and deformations of the walls weremonitored during the tests. As a result of the tests, an analysis was made of the effect of confining and filling of perpend joints withmortar onmasonry strength.
