The paper discusses the influence of quality of prestressing cables and factors relatedwith the prestressing process on the durability of the prestressed structures. According to experiences, the crucial measure of anticorrosion protection is a correct filling of the cable ducts with grout. Both type and quality of the grout aswell as the technology of grouting have a significant impact on durability. The state of the cables at the moment of construction and time between construction and grouting are also decisive for the durability. Therefore preparation of the cables, prestressing process and anticorrosion protection (the grouting process) must be done under strict control. Keywords: prestressed structures; prestressing cables; corrosion.
