Influence of opening and lintel stiffness on the load capacity of AAC wall

The article describes the results of tests of walls built of AAC blocks (autoclaved aerated concrete) on a full scale, compressed in the plane of thewall. Three series of tests, twowalls each, were subjected to the study. Two walls without an opening and two series of two walls with an opening andABK lintels and reinforced concrete lintelswere tested.The aimof the researchwas to determine the impact of the opening and the impact of the lintel stiffness on the load capacity of the walls. It has been shown that wallswith openings are characterized by load-bearing capacity and crack resistance which is up to 2/3 lower compared to the loadbearing capacity and crack resistance of a solidwall.No significant influence of the bearing capacity and stiffness of the lintel on the obtained results of tearing and destructive forces was found.
