The results of researches properties of concrete based on cement CEM IIIA 42,5 N with addition of fly ash were presented in the paper. The aim was the examination of the possibility of the fly ash applying to the concrete based on metallurgical cement in structural elements exposed to chloride aggression, which is not from sea water. Comparative analysis of the obtained results indicated a significant improvement of tightness and resistance to chloride ions penetration for the concretes containing fly ash addition. Simultaneously, in tested concretes, the conditions forminimumconcrete strength required in the standard PN-EN206:2014 for the exposure classXD3,were fulfilled. The concretes containing fly ash additive showed a slower rate of initial strength rise and high strength over a long period of maturation. In accordance to the presented research results, the point to consider is the introduction of changes in Polish standardization system allowing use of the additive of fly ash in the concrete made using cement CEM III A 42,5. Such a solution is not currently acceptable in PN-EN 206:2014.
