The results presented in this article are a preliminary summary of the authors’ research on the lap connections, hybrid joints, and riveted bolt joints. The analysed test elements with double-notched joints, in which one of the rivets was replaced with a high-resistance bolt. The bolts in specific elements were placed in regular or fitted holes and then pre-stressed. The issue related to the replacement of rivets with bolts was analysed due to the fact that this is a commonly used practice in the renovation of historic streel structures. However, the bearing capacity of those joints has not yet been confirmed by model studies with computational analyses. The results of the performed tests are presented in form of load-displacement diagrams, which may be compared to the reference results for double-riveted joints.Apart from that, the joint breaking force was determined and the translational stiffness was assessed. An important element of the conducted research was the analysis of various arrangements of connectors in a joint. The results of the analyses confirm the current state of knowledge presented in publications [1, 2].
