Exterior thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) based on expanded polystyrene (EPS) account for approximately 90% of thermal insulation in the Polish construction industry. Under real-world conditions, these coatings undergo premature aesthetic and structural degradation. This article analyzes the impact of abiotic factors and the properties of thin-coat plasters (acrylic, mineral, silicate, and silicone)with “lambskin” and “bark beetle” textures on their aging processes after 6 years of exposure. Itwas demonstrated that changes in the porousmicrostructure and water absorption of the plasters increase their susceptibility to biocorrosion, resulting in a decrease in the thermal insulation performance of the system.

Zewnętrzne złożone systemy izolacji cieplnej (ETICS) bazujące na ekspandowanym polistyrenie (EPS) stanowią ok. 90% termoizolacji w polskim budownictwie. W warunkach rzeczywistych powłoki ulegają przedwczesnej degradacji estetycznej i strukturalnej.
