The total length of bridges is only 0,25% of the length of the national road network. However, there are buildings whose construction cost is about 50% of the cost of building a section of the road. The cost of building a pavement on a bridge is only about 0,5% of the bridge structure cost and only 0,25% of the road building cost. However the falture of the pavement on the bridge can load to the long ruming of the section of the road of operation. Error arising when pavement works with a vollue of 0,5% of the bridge investment can generale costs equal to 20 ÷ 40% of this investment ie 40 ÷ 80 times higher. This article discusses the mechanism of the formation of the most common damage on th pavement of bridge and the connection of the road to the bridge object and na attempt was made to explain their causes.
