In this article, the possibility of using post-consumer waste ceramic (pottery and sanitary) to produce of the cement mortars was reported. The influence of the amount used of the waste material on the physical and mechanical properties (compressive strength, frost resistance, water absorption) the synthesized building materials was determined. In studies, the sand was replaced by a mixture of pottery and sanitary materials (in the ratio 50:50) in an amount of 10-30%by weight of cement. The tests were performed according to the mandatory standards. The surface morphology of the obtained materials was characterized by means of scanning microscope. The best mechanical properties were found for a mortars made with the addition of 30% ceramic waste. Also, for these mixes were obtained the highest compressive strength, the smallest decline in strength after frost resistance tests and the slightly higher the water absorption than standard mortar.
