Passive house is the highest form of energy-saving construction. It’s main idea is that heat losses in the building will be limited to such an extent that a separate heating system will not be necessary. However, for this to be fulfilled, appropriate design solutions with the highest quality of execution must be applied. This article introduces the five main principles of passive house together with argumentation and explanation of the benefits that they bring and allow a given facility to achieve the passive house standard.
