The article presents the method of determining and organizing the work of a set of assembly machines in order to optimize work processes on a construction site. The complexity of the task implied the need to build an artificial community representing the model of a planning problem using the Monte Carlo method to search for the most beneficial solutions. The indispensable knowledge and data for building the model was obtained as part of a survey conducted among contractors and renters of assembly equipment, defining the availability and demand for particular types of assembly machines, criteria and their level of significance and costs related to their transport, assembly and ongoing work. In addition an example of the use of a planning tool is presented confirming the effectiveness of the proposed method. Keywords: planning assembly works; Monte Carlo method; cranes.
