The paper presents the principles of balancing energy buildings with a particular focus on nearly zero-energy buildings (nZEB). The calculation highlighted the relationship and balance between the air exchange in theway ofmechanical ventilation and infiltration, caused by the impact of climate and depended on the air tightness of the buildings. The examples of solutions for mechanical ventilation of nZEB buildings that create the conditions for efficient operation were presented.
Keywords: building energy balance, air change, heat demand for ventilation, low energy operating cost, mechanical ventilation solution.
