This paper describes the SFM (Shear Friction Model) to determine the shear capacity of reinforced concrete elements. In addition, the results of research of shear strength of concrete beams reinforced with GFRP bars (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) are presented. Four beams with GFRP shear reinforcement (stirrups and headed bars) were analyzed. The article presents the comparison of experimentally investigated shear capacity and theoretical calculated according to SFM.
