The article presents capacity and dynamic response analysis of a reinforced concrete chimney under simultaneous seismic actionand initial leaning of the chimney. The chimneywas subjected to dead load and localwind effects aswell as the seismic excitations. An analysis of the effect of leaning of the chimney and its dynamic response was carried out using the familiar El Centro, 1940 accelerogram. The seismic response due simultaneous action of leaning and seismic excitations was analyzed using Eurocode 8 specific safety criteria. In addition response to strong mine tremor record and design response spectrum load of the mine quakes was computed and analyzed.
