The paper presents a multicriteria assessment of the usability of ceramic paints for interiors, with particular emphasis on latex paints. Five types of paints differing in manufacturing technology, physical and functional properties as well as application directions were selected for the evaluation. The assessment of paints was carried out on the basis of such indicators as: resistance ofwet scrubbing coatings, ability to cover walls with paint characterized by contrast ratio, reflection coefficient, dirt resistance, equivalent air layer thickness and water penetration coefficient. The multi-criteria rating was characterized by a usefulness index taking into account all of the mentioned parameters. It was found that the highest usefulness was demonstrated by latex paint of the latest generation, using innovative ceramic technology, based on the highest quality resins and synthetic waxes. Keywords: latex paint; acrylic paint; usability index; resistance; durability.
