Muskauer Park (park Mużakowski) is one of the biggest and most valuable landscape parks in Europe. In addition to its unique program of natural compositions, many civil engineering structures are also located here, which complete the cultural landscape. One of these is the Arcade Bridge (Most Arkadowy), erected in 1853. Built of ceramic brick and slag blocks, it was, until recently, in very bad technical condition. The structure was cracked, and characterized by excessive moisture content, with the bricks and mortar corroded. The blocks of slag were in the worst technical condition. Their strength parameters were assessed over the course of tests carried out in a laboratory of the University of Zielona Góra. This was the basic starting point for planning renovation works on the bridge. Problems with obtaining the original material forced the investor to replace the corroded elements with another material. The slab block fragments of the facade were replaced with ceramic tiles of a similar color.
