Article applies opportunities to the use of austenitic steel H20N12S2 / 1.4828 in CFST and CFDST columns. In publication presents the problem protection of fire for steel and review of literature research of CFST and CFDST columns exploited` in high temperature. Own research included examination of the microstructure, hardness and static stretching samples cut taken along and across rolling axis. Experience on columns with heat-resistant steel confirmed the legitimacy of the use of it as a load- bearing elements. Keywords: composite columns, austenitic steel, fire resistance.
